Solution

Human Brain

  1. The human brain is in charge of almost every aspect of the human body, from physiological functions to cognitive capacities.
  2. It works by receiving and delivering impulses to various body parts via neurons.
  3. The brain is divided into three parts.
  4. Forebrain: The front region of the brain is placed on the forehead and upper head of the skull, made up of the olfactory lobes, the cerebrum, thalamus, and hypothalamus.
  5. Midbrain: The bottom portion of the brain and has optic lobes: center of vision, cerebral peduncle, and pineal gland.
  6. Hindbrain: It contains the cerebellum, the pons, and the medulla oblongata.

(i) Swimming requires balance, posture, and coordination, which the cerebellum manages.

(ii) Riding a bicycle requires balance, which is managed by the cerebellum.

Cerebellum

  1. It is part of the hindbrain.
  2. The cerebellum controls movement, balance, posture, and coordination.

(iii) Listening to music is controlled by the midbrain.

Midbrain

Visual analysis, auditory (hearing), and involuntary behaviors are all controlled by the midbrain.
