Question

Which parts of the plant are involved in the process of transpiration? Is phloem involved in transpiration?

Open in App
Solution

Plants absorb water through their root hairs and then from the roots they are conducted to all parts of the plant through the xylem. All the water absorbed by the plant is not utilised by the plant. The water evaporates through the stomata present on surface of leaves by the process of transpiration.

Phloem is not involved in the process of the transpiration. Phloem conducts food from leaves to all parts of the plant.
