The sole of the shoe wears away faster than any other part.

This is because, it is below the shoe and is the only part that is in direct contact with earth.

Constant friction with different kinds of surfaces can easily damage the sole. Imagine the sole being dragged upon rock, gravel, brick, concrete, sands, grass etc.
