Solution

Global warming:

  1. Global warming is a term that refers to the long-term heating of the Earth due to the heat that is trapped in the Earth's atmosphere.

Greenhouse effect:

  1. The process that occurs when the radiation from the sun enters the Earth's atmosphere and increases the Earth's temperature, but the atmosphere prevents the heat to return into the space resulting in making the planet warmer is called the greenhouse effect.
  2. It is due to the presence of carbon dioxide, water vapour, methane and other gases in the atmosphere.
  3. These gases trap the heat in the atmosphere and are called greenhouse gases.
  4. Thus, the greenhouse effect causes global warming.
