C4 plants have two types of cells in them. One is bundle sheath cells and the other is mesophyll cells.
The chloroplasts of these two types of cells vary from each other. The chloroplasts of bundle sheath cells lack grana and have more starch granules than that of mesophyll cells.
The presence of these two varieties of chloroplast is known as chloroplast dimorphism. Sugarcane is a C4 plant and hence shows chloroplast dimorphism.
