When the technique of functional foremanship is applied there are a lot of foremans which are assigned to different departments according to their specialisation. Hence, the principle of Unity of Command cannot be applied since it means the employee is answerable to only his manager and should receive orders from him and no one else. This cannot be followed in functional foremanship as the workers have to work under foremans having different roles when put into small groups.
