Dear student,
The transport of food in plants is the process which is accomplished by utilising energy from ATP.
ATP is required for the transportation of food in the phloem.
Because water and minerals are transported through xylem tissue of roots, shoots and leaves which makes a continuous water conducting channels. Transpiration creates a suction pressure, so by this pressure, water and minerals are being transported in all parts of plants without the requirement of ATP.
Regards.
