The cell membrane is often recognized as the cell's plasma membrane.
It is found in all cells and helps isolate the inside of the cell from its external environment.
Protein Found in Cell Membrane:
Membrane proteins can be either peripheral or integral.
Peripheral proteins are found just on the membrane's surface and often engage in cellular response pathways or serve as receptors, enzymes, and cytoskeletal proteins. For example- cytochrome C and flavoproteins.
The integral proteins seem to be either partially or completely implanted in the transmembrane and serve like channels or carrier proteins for the ion transport or molecules out across the cell membrane. For example- Glycophorin and NADH dehydrogenase.
