Schrodinger equation for systems like atoms and molecules is written as:
^Hψ=Eψ
The solution of this equation provides a set of numbers called quantum numbers. These numbers describe energies of the electron in atoms, orientation of the most probable distribution of electrons around the nucleus i.e, information about the shape of orbitals.
The quantum numbers are - Principal (n), Azimuthal (l) and Magnetic (ml). Spin quantum number (ms) is not associated with Schrodinger equation. The spin quantum number is associated with the spin of the electron.
