Solution

The correct option is A Schiff's reagent

Schiff's reagent can be used to differentiate between aldehyde and ketones. Fuschsine or rosaniline hydrochloride is a magenta-colored dye with a chemical formula C20H20N3.HCl, which is decolorized by sodium bisulfate

Propanal and Propanone : These two are distinguished by Schiff's reagent test. Propanal which is aldehyde gives magenta color with this reagent whereas propanone i.e. ketone doesn't give. Because this nucleophile is extremely bulky, a ketone, which is more sterically crowded than an aldehyde at the carbonyl carbon, does not react with Schiff's reagent, and thus does not produce the magenta color.

Hence option A is the correct answer.
