which sound is more harmful to human ears-loud or high pitched

Dear Student ,
Sounds of high pitch and louder both are harmful to our ear .But loud noise affects our hearing ability more than the high pitched sound .As we can not hear a sound of frequency more than 20000 Hz .though high pitch sound with frequency close to the 20000 Hz can also cause permanent hearing loss .
