Which state of matter is clay?

Based on the three classifications of states of matter, it's solid.
Clay can only change shape when in molten form, solid clay is hard and with a definite shape. By actually having clay in molten form its properties is intermediate between that of solid and liquid and thats why its able to change shape and thus be molded.
