Solution
Eustachian tube:
The pharynx is a hollow tube-like structure which starts behind the nose, goes down through the neck, and ends at the top of the trachea and oesophagus.
The eustachian tube connects the pharynx with the middle ear cavity.
It plays a vital role in equalizing air pressure on either side of the tympanic membrane.
In case it gets plugged there will be severe pain in the ear and one will have difficulty in hearing.
