Solution

The correct option is C Primary spermatocyte and Primary oocytes
The primary sex organs, the testis in the males and the ovaries in the females, produce gametes, i.e., sperms and ovum, respectively, by the process called as gametogenesis. In the testis, spermatogonia differentiate to form primary spermatocytes and periodically undergo meiosis 1 to produce two haploid cells called as secondary spermatocytes, which have only 23 chromosomes each.
In oogenesis, gamete mother cells (oogonia) differentiates to form primary oocytes. The primary oocytes with tertiary follicles undergo meiosis I to form haploid secondary oocytes during menstruation cycle under the influence of pituitary hormones. Thus, the correct answer is option C.
