Fractional distillation is a technique used to separate different gases in the air.
To separate oxygen we can employ this method by warming liquid air (air that liquified under pressure) and allowing it to rise in the fractionating column.
The gases present is separated according to the boiling point.
Oxygen having the boiling point will also be separated.
Nitrogen having boiling point and argon having boiling point can also be separated from the air.
