Solution

NPP or Net primary productivity

  1. After deducting plant respiration from gross primary productivity(GPP), it is the quantity of carbon uptake.
  2. It is the remaining fixed energy(i.e., the mass of photosynthate / organic matter)
  3. NPP = GPP - Respiration(by plants)

Tropical rainforests

  1. NPP of Tropical rainforests is the highest.
  2. This is because Tropical rainforest has abundant rainfall, warm temperature, abundant sunlight and rich diversity of species.
