When an object is slided or shifted to form an image, the transformation involved is said to be translation.
Here, the preimage ABCD undergoes translation when you move or slide it 4 units left, i.e., in the negative x direction and 6 units up, i.e., in the positive y direction.
(Vertex A translating to form A')

(Vertex B translating to form B')
