Solution

Pancreas

The pancreas is a heterocrine gland (i.e., a gland having both endocrine and exocrine regions) located in the abdomen. It is responsible for the production of many digestive enzymes and some hormones.

Hormones secreted by the Pancreas

There are two hormones secreted by the pancreas. They are insulin and glucagon.

Functions:

  1. Insulin: It helps in lowering the sugar levels in the blood by converting glucose into glycogen for storage.
  2. Glucagon: It helps in increasing the sugar level in the blood by converting stored glycogen into glucose.
