∙ On the basis of habitat, animals are usually classified into two groups, terrestrial and aquatic.
∙ Terrestrial animals (X) are those which live entirely on land. E.g., Horse, lion, etc.
∙ Aquatic animals (Y), on the other hand, live only on water. E.g., Fish, whale, etc.
∙ However, certain animals like frog, salamander and toad live on both land and water. Such animals are called amphibians (Z).
