Ferrimagnetism arises due to the unequal magnetic moments in opposite direction, resulting net magnetic moment in one direction.
Magnetic moments of the domains are aligned in parallel and anti-parallel directions in unequal numbers
These materials are weakly attracted by magnetic fields as compared to ferromagnetic substances.

On heating, substance loses its ferrimagnetism property and becomes paramagnetic.
