Which type of plants show fibrous root?
Monocots
Monocots, including onions and grasses, have fibrous root systems. In the fibrous root system the primary root is short lived. The roots of these plants are somewhat small but are generally around the same size and grow from the base of the stem. The roots grow downward and outward from the stem, branching repeatedly to form a mass of fine roots. The smaller lateral roots are able to attach and cling to the soil, which makes them ideal for the prevention of erosion.
