Which types of chromosomal disorder shows monosomy?

Open in App
Solution

Monosomy occurs when one member of a pair of chromosomes is absent or a part of one of the chromosomes is absent. E.g: in monosomy X, or Turner syndrome, occurs when a baby is born with only one X sex chromosome. The other X or Y chromosome is absent. In monosomy 18p there is deletion (monosomy) of all or a portion of the short arm (p) of chromosome 18.
