Solution

The correct option is A 2.4
Given :

Soil is saturated with kerosene oil
γsat=2.5 gm/cc

G=2.7

So=0.9

γsat=(G+e.Sr.So1+e)γw

2.5=(2.7+e×1×0.91+e)×1

2.5+2.5 e=2.7+0.9×e

e=0.125

γd=Gγw1+e

γd=2.7×11+0.125

γd=2.4 g/cc
