Solution

Determine the speeds of their walking.

Let the speed of Ajeet and Amit be a and b.

We know that Time(t)=Distance(d)Speed(S)

According to the question:

30a=2+30b1302a=30b-12

Subtract equation 2 from 1, we get:

302a=3a=306a=5

Now, substitute a=5 in equation 1 we get:

30a=2+30b305=2+30b6=2+30bb=304b=7.5

Hence, the required speeds of Ajeet and Amit are 5km/hr and 7.5km/hr.
