Finding distance/displacement : 1 Mark
Finding average speed/velocity : 1 Mark

The diagram representing the motion is as follows

From A to C:

Time taken = 170 s + 60 s = 230 s

Distance travelled = 300 m + 100 m = 400 m

Hence, $a v e r a g e s p e e d = \frac{400}{230} = 1.74 m / s$

Displacement = AC = 200 m

So, $a v e r a g e v e l o c i t y = \frac{200}{230} = 0.869 m / s$
