To compare $\frac{3}{8}$ and $\frac{1}{3}$, make them into like fractions. LCM of 8 and 3 =24.

$\frac{3\times 3}{8\times 3}=\frac{9}{24}$

$\frac{1\times 8}{3\times 8}=\frac{8}{24}$

$\therefore$ $\frac{9}{24}>\frac{8}{24}$ i.e., $\frac{3}{8}>\frac{1}{3}$
