The correct option is A decreased
As the image is formed by a large number of rays from the object. So, if any part of the lens is blackened, the image will be formed but the brightness of image will be less compared to the image formed by without blackened the lens. So, if the upper half of the lens is blackened then the brightness of the image will be reduced.
