The correct option is D $8 \frac{15}{17} %$
Total sales tax paid $= 7 %$ of $R s 400 + 9 %$ of $R s 6400$
$R s (\frac{7}{100} \times 400 + \frac{9}{100} \times 6400)$
$= R s 604$
Therefore,
Total cost of items $= R s (400 + 6400) = 6800$
Hence the required $% = (\frac{604}{6800} \times 100) %$
