While travelling in a bus, it appears that the trees near the road are moving whereas co-passengers appear to be stationary. Explain the reason.

While sitting in a moving bus, when we look outside the window, the trees appear to be moving in opposite direction because their position is changing with respect to us. On the other hand the position of co-passengers is not changing with respect to us, hence they appear to be stationary.
