For minima to occur,
2μt=2nλ12.....(i)
and for maxima
2μt=(2n1)λ22....(ii)
From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get
(2n1)λ2=2nλ1
or (2n1)7500=(2n)6500
[given, λ2=7500A,λ1=6500A]
or 1500n7500=13000n
or 2000n=7500
or n=3.75
Substituting the value of (n) in Eq. (i), we get
2×53×t=2×3.75×65002×1010[μ=53]
t=7.40×107cm.
