Stakeholder:

  2. Someone who uses forest resources in some way is referred to as a forest stakeholder.

Stakeholders in respect of forests are:

  1. Tribals- The Tribals are people who live in or near the forests. Having to rely on them for supplies and sustenance. The Forests provide them with wood, fruits and vegetables, medicinal herbs, gum, nuts, bamboo, and other necessities. The tribals defend the forest against exploitation and pollution by industries.
  2. The Forest Department- The Forest Department, which is part of the government, is in charge of the land and resources that Forests supply. They are in charge of ensuring that forest resources are used properly and that they are conserved.
  3. Industries- Industries rely on forests as a source of resources of raw materials and utilize all of them to the utmost extent possible, with no regard for conservation.
  4. Ecological Enthusiasts and Conservationists: Their major goal is to protect a region's forest and wildlife from the harm caused by industries. They also work with tribals and the forest department to ensure that forests are protected and not exploited for industrial use.
