a. The printing press in Goa was first developed by Portuguese.Jesuit priests printed material in Konkani.
b.In the 16th and 17th centuries large number of books were printed in Konkani language also Tamil texts were printed.
c. Various Portuguese missionaries were also involved in printing texts.
d. It was in the late 17th century that the British began to import printing press in India.
