The cave 16 is home to the Kailasa temple. It is one of the most remarkable temples in the Ellora caves. It is named after the Kailas range of the Himalayas. The temple was built by Krishna I of the Rashtrakuta Dynasty. They were constructed during 600 AD to 1000 AD. It is 50 m long, 33 m wide and is 30 m high. The whole temple is carved out of one single massive stone
