Solution
Auxin is a growth-regulating hormone produced in the stem tip it promotes cell elongation and root initiation in plants.
Auxin moves to the darker side of the plant, causing the cells there to grow larger than the cells exposed to light.
The term auxin is derived from the Greek word auxein which means to grow. In 1928, Frits Warmolt Went coined the term auxin.
