The Constitution has fixed the salary and allowances of the judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts. They are paid from Consolidated Fund of India and Consolidated Fund of State respectively. Their salary and allowances are not subject to alterations. The Lok Sabha passes a bill to hike the salaries of judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts.
