Discovery of neutron:

  1. Neutron was first discovered by James Chadwick.
  2. He bombarded thin beryllium sheet by alpha particles.
  3. In this experiment, neutral particles having mass slightly greater than the mass of proton were emitted.
  4. James Chadwick named these particles as neutrons.
  5. Neutrons are present in atoms of all the elements except Hydrogen (H).
