Solution
Theory of inheritance of acquired characters:
This theory was proposed by the French naturalist named Jean Baptiste De Lamarck which served as the first logical explanation for biological evolution.
According to this theory, the organs which were used by organisms on a regular basis became strong and developed while the organisms that were not used degenerate easily as they are weak.
This theory is also called the theory of use and disuse where the organs that were not used either remained in the body of the organisms as vestigial organs or they completely disappeared.
Hence, the theory of inheritance of acquired characters was proposed by Jean Baptiste De Lamarck.
