Less than 1 percent of the population has a rare congenital condition called dextrocardia, where the heart is present at the right side of the chest.
It can also be present on the right side in the people with the genetic condition situs inversus, where most of the visceral organs are positioned at the mirror-image of the normal position in the body, e.g. heart, liver, spleen, etc.
Causes:
During the early weeks of pregnancy, the baby's heart develops.
Sometimes, it happens so than it points to the right side of the chest instead of the left side. The exact reasons for this are unclear still.
