Question

Who have a longer small intestine - herbivores or carnivores ?

Open in App
Solution

The small intestine of herbivores is generally longer than that of carnivores. This is because of their diet. Herbivores feed on grass and green leaves which contain high amounts of cellulose. This cellulose required more time to be digested. On the other hand, the animal flesh consumed by carnivores requires a lesser amount of time for its digestion.
