Charles Babbage, credited deservedly as the Father of the Computer. Not only this but he was a genius of the first order- a mathematician and professor, an engineer and inventor, a politician, a writer, a cryptographer, a founder of scientific organization and an expert on industry.
Charles Babbage (1791-1871), computer pioneer, designed the first automatic computing engines. He invented computers but failed to build them. The first complete Babbage Engine was completed in London in 2002, 153 years after it was designed.
