Who is known as the father of microbiology?
Anton Van Leeuwenhoek developed a simple microscope, he was the first to see the cells and recognized them as living units of all living beings and so called ‘the father of microbiology’.
Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann put forth the cell theory which states that “Cells are fundamental unit of life” and “All living beings are made of cell”
Robert Hooke observed the cork cells (dead cells) for the first time under the microscope and coined the term “cell”.
