Solution

The correct option is C Prime Minister

After India achieved independence, a formal model of planning was adopted, and accordingly the Planning Commission, reporting directly to the Prime Minister of India, was established on 15 March 1950, with Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as the Chairman. The Prime Minister is the Chairman of the Planning Commission, which works under the overall guidance of the National Development Council. Advisory Planning Board constituted in 1946 under the chairmanship of K.C Neogi gave recommendations for the establishment of the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission is a non-constitutional and non-statutory body and is responsible to formulate five years plan for social and economic development in India.
