General Augusto Pinochet, an Army General led the military coup in Chile. The people of Chile could not do as they wished and no one could question the government of Pinochet. Pinochet established military dictatorship. His government tortured and killed several people who wanted democracy to be restored. More than 3,000 people were killed by the military. Many more were reported mission.
