Open in App
Solution

The theory of acquired inheritance or inheritance of acquired characters was proposed by Jean-Baptiste-Lamarck in 1801. According to this theory, the organisms may acquire certain changes in order to adapt to changes in the environment. The changes acquired are by means of use or disuse of certain organs. These changes may then be passed on to their offsprings.
