Indra Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, officially recorded the impressive strides of the Green revolution in agriculture by releasing a special stamp entitled 'Wheat Revolution' in July 1968. The Post and Telegraph Department of India released a special stamp to commemorate the successful “wheat revolution” and explain the significance of agricultural revolution as well as economic betterment. The then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi released this stamp entitled Wheat Revolution on July 17 1968. The design of the stamp includes stacks of wheat with the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi in the background.
