Dalhousie introduced a new system of internal communication in India. He was the Father of Indian Railways. The first Railway Workshop was established at Jamalpur, near Munger, Bihar, in 1862. He was a British officer and Governor-General of India. The first passenger rail in India was run between Bombay and Thane on 16th April 1853.
