Manocchio was one of the first people to re-interpret bible. His interpretation was not welcomed the church. His views contradicted the long standing traditional view of the church. This alerted the ruling powers such as state and church to adopt measures that controlled the print of these literature that challenged them. They were so cautious which led to them maintaining a list of prohibited books.
