Maximilien Robespierre was a French lawyer and politician who became one of the most influential leaders of the French Revolution.
He formed the Jacobin Club.
The club was formed reshape the political situation of France which got disturbed under monarchy.
Some of its contributions include:
a. Abolition of monarchy and declaration of France as a Republic.
b. Elections were held. All men of 21 years and above, regardless of wealth, got the right to vote.
c. Meat and bread were rationed. Peasants were forced to transport their grain to the cities and sell it at prices fixed by the government.
d. Churches were closed down and their buildings got converted into barracks or offices.
