Qutub-ud-din Aibak met a very tragic end at the hands of a horse. He fell off his horse while playing polo in the year 1210 CE at Lahore. After Qutub-ud-din’s death, his son Aram Shah took over the reign of the Mamluk Dynasty. His rule hardly lasted a year before he was killed and replaced by Qutub-ud-din’s son-in-law, Iltutmish.
