The Cabinet Mission recommended formulating a constitution-making body for India. Thus, the Constituent Assembly came into existence. There were 389 members in the constituent assembly. Dr. Sachidanand Sinha was the first president of the Constituent Assembly. Later, Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected its president.
